My suggestion directly relates to editing the way suggestions are submitted. Currently they are submitted to the forum, then if it's popular a moderator moves it to top suggestions. However this system appears to be slow as it is based on moderation etc.

How about this system is instead abstracted from the forum and a user voting system is put in place?

The user system would work very much like the system on http://stackoverflow.com

A user would submit an idea, and users could vote it up or down. Each user would get a vote. Ideas with the most votes would rise to the top, those with the least would fall to the bottom. It would be a simple points system with each suggestion starting at 0. Users upvoting it would give it an extra point, and users downvoting it would remove a point.

Simple, no moderation bias, and easy to see which ideas are the most popular.

Sorry I meant it would be abstracted, or rather removed from the forum and instead part of the main site.

Ah, that would assist andi with the top suggestions alot if it could be made to work.
