1. Increase Server limit to 800.
2. A server will host 50000 webs per server.
3.A web will produce 0.5 CD a week
4. A Server maintenance cost stepped from
1-50 1% on total CD
50 -100 2% on total CD
100-250 4 % on total CD
250-500 7.5% on total CDs
500-800 10 % on total CDs

cheers

Could you clarify a little.

How often is the maintenance ? (I'm guessing at each action)
10 % on Total CDs : total gained during that sell of servers ?
Shall you remove the randomness in the $ gained here by doing this ?

800 servers with 50,000 webs each giving 0.5 cd per week => 800 x 50,000 => 40,000,000 webs => 20,000,000 cd per Week (18,750,000 cd per week for 750 servers)

Where now I get around 1,925,126 per day => 13,475,882 cd per Week. (with 750 severs)

=> More cd per players in Game ... even if you remove 10 %

I don't see the reason for you to code all this extra work .. .. .. But Thanks :D

What do you mean by "hosting" webs per server? Are you doing away with the scanning system and just letting it be a form of interest gained weekly? I do think it needs a little more clarification on some points, but if a server gives you 50,000 webs per week, and each web is .5 CDs, why not just make each server 25,000 CDs per week, instead of adding that extra step? Unless you're taking the capacity scout approach and giving the players the choice of when to receive their credits. Or are servers creating websites (the things we already have implemented) and now websites can be sold for credits directly?

increasing server limit, auto scanning, injecting more money to the game will bloat the economy.

1. servers you can have will increase to 800.
2. you have to host your webs to gain CD's on a server. the amount you host in one server will be capped at 5000. (not Fifty thousand terrible typo) this will need hosting permit for a server.

3. A web = .5CD a week
4. Maintenance will run daily total CD= how much your servers are capable of making for you a day (host+ clients+ webs*.5/7).
will update with more details

Will servers be worthless without webs now? Or will we still get money for scanning, as well as for out webs?

Zcon, maybe I'm misunderstanding this, correct me if I'm wrong.

Code: Select all
260,280,000 - the number of CDs it will cost to buy 800 servers.
480,000,000 - the cost in CDs to buy 4,000,000 (5000 * 800) webs to populate your servers (at 120CDs each).
+___________
740,280,000 - total investment for max servers/webs.

2,000,000 - income PER WEEK from 800 servers with max webs (800 * 5000 * .5).
1,900,000 - income after you pay 10% for maintenance costs.

~389.6.. - the number of WEEKS before you start to see ROI; AKA ~2,727 days.

I really hope I'm wrong here...

Oh, well then that sounds like a terribly expensive amount of interest. I believe what's going to happen, is, we stick a max of 5,000 of our websites onto a single server we own, then every week we get .5 credits for every website we have sitting on all of our servers (even though, currently, each website on the market costs about 200 credits, so this would mean it'd take 400 weeks to pay off one website with one website?). But that means we not only have to pay for those REALLY expensive servers (especially later on), we also have to pay for the websites to sit in the servers, and let's not forget we have to pay for DDays to use them. So, the cost is increasing multiple times, while the profits gained is decreasing dramatically. 2500 credits per week per fully-loaded server = 2500 * 800 max = 2,000,000.... a week. I hope I'm reading this wrong, I really do. It would take weeks to pay off and fully-load 10 new servers, if just using the money gained from the servers. And that's just at the lower numbers. That is, if scanning is also being done-away with, which it sounds like it is.

EDIT: Sorry, I missed the above post before responding, and ended up repeating a lot of what was said there.

you got it right.
1. Maintenance cost will come to servers any how. which will be based on the Income a server will generate for a player. at the moment you generate your income from hosts and clients.
2. In addition the option of hosting webs on a server will be added you will have to select how many webs you need to host on a server with a max limit of 5000 per server. once you host the webs you will generate income from that. it will generate income for whatever amount of webs you have on a server.
3. After all its up to you if you want to buy additional servers or host your webs or sell them on the market as webs will be needed for other things in future.

Alright, if it's just an addition, and you can still scan, it sounds alright, but like I said, the profit is waaaay too low. .5 credits per week for a website that cost me 120+ credits? That's 240 weeks (about 5 years) before I start getting profit, unless I'm dyslexifying up some math in there. Now, you've seen the players' posts here, you've seen they/we can be.. impatient, to put it mildly. Do you honestly think any of us want to spend a bunch of credits on something that won't return payment for five years? The profit per web has to increase.. a lot. Like.. 20 credits per website per week.. minimum. That way, with current website prices (which are REALLY cheap, and will rise in the future, hopefully), it'll take 6 weeks for a website to turn profit. I'd obviously suggest more, since the prices will go up (especially if websites produce more profit in servers; more profit per website, websites are worth more, websites get sold for more, market value goes up, right?) So if they produced about 50-60 creds per web per week, that's about 2-3 weeks with current prices (and I think it only takes 4-5 weeks now to turn profit with just scanning servers), and adding a couple more weeks onto that with the expected website price increase, it would take about 4-6 weeks to turn profit in the future, just like it has been.

Zcon...what are you hoping to accomplish with this?
My servers make me 14m-15m a week. You want my servers to make me 1,687,500 (1875000 - 10%) a week.
WHAT BENEFIT WILL THIS SERVE? Why should we WANT this update?

Would you mind zero-ing my servers and refunding my ~222,999,000 CDs (estimate) invested? I don't believe the game will even last long enough for me to see a return on my webs, the investment doesn't make sense.

+1 to Adam for identifying this whole announcement as a stupid idea.

Stop being fucking greedy by eliminating the game dynamics and asking people to donate to be able to achieve anything.
Move along numpty!

The problem of altering the mechanics of the game economy is that if you do too much, the economy will lose it's consumers. In other words, if you do too much that requires people to ship you loads of money, you will find the flow lessened.

Is it that you think servers are generating too much in game capital?

Most of my own suggestions are oriented around realism or the role-play aspect of the game. I can kinda see how webs and servers should tie together. And in some ways they already are. Everyone knows, or should, that you can buy servers with websites. And if you don't, then look here: http://www.cyber-wars.com/mines.php?view=shop2 ..... Perhaps reduce the cost there in webs? I think most of us are still unsure how this will benefit the game because we don't see how YOU think it will improve the game.

This update will, in effect, reduce the number of people even interested in using servers. Which will, admittedly, reduce the amount of in game money being generated.

Total number of users that have logged in the last 24hrs: 153

lets see what really changes, weve have only gained a handful of new players since reset and the number of old players is steadily falling.
